Happy Thanksgiving!

I am just going to pretend that it hasn't been months since I have blogged. Let's just go with that okay?

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Today I really want to take some time to think about what I am really thankful for. I have been reading so many blogs and hearing so many stories about sadness (sick children, families losing loved ones) that it makes me pause and really think about all the wonderful things in my life. I'm not sure why I am so lucky, but I am so grateful.

I am thankful that I have two beautiful daughters who are healthy and smart and that give my life meaning every day. Sometimes I am too tired to play, or too cranky to rock Leah to sleep, or just too caught up in my own life. But when I think about people who long for children, or sleep in a hospital bed next to their sick baby, or are mourning the loss of a child or pregnancy-it makes me realize what I have.

I am thankful for a husband who I love very much. Even though he knows how to push my buttons and sometimes I want to strangle him-I can not imagine going through life alone. I can't imagine trying to raise the girls without a partner, and I can't imagine sleeping in an empty bed. He works so hard for us, and I am grateful.

I am thankful that I have a house, a car, and a job. I know there are people who go without.

I am thankful for my family. I am thankful that I still have my mom and my dad and that I have two sisters who I love very much. I am thankful that I have grandparents and aunts, and uncles, and cousins. I am truly blessed with my family.

I am thankful for my wonderful friends. I am always amazed that I have so many people who actually love me and who are always there for me!

I have a wonderful like and I can't ask for much more!

I have to end with a little story. Kendall made a turkey at preschool, and on the feathers are all of the things she is thankful for. Kendall is thankful for her mommy and daddy, her sister Leah, her puppies, and....CHICKENS!

Adios,

I'm back

So I am back with my second attempt to keep my New Year's Resolution to blog every day! Seriously, I mean business this time! It is going to get done. I mean it. I think I need to start small-I always think I need these super profound thoughts...but instead I am going to focus on blogging about the girls and life at home, and I'm sure those profound thoughts will come through!

Since I am going to be blogging about the family, I think I will introduce the fam-on the off chance that someone other than myself will read this blog!

The Logans

This is my fabulous family!

Ryan aka Logan

I am so lucky that I married such an amazing man! Ryan is my best friend and he makes me laugh every single day. He is in the direct marketing business, and he works hard every day in order to provide for his girls! He is super anal, and a little OCD and both of those things totally get on my nerves on a daily basis, but it is actually exactly what I need in a partner! He is a wonderful husband and an incredible daddy. He lives for sports and video games (typical male). He never has a bad thing to say about anybody, and is always the life of the party!

Kendall aka KLo aka Boos

Kendall is the smartest, funniest, cutest 2 year old in the world (and that is a fact!). Seriously, this girl is a riot! She is the best little girl-very rarely disobeys, always says I love you and just has the sweetest smile-it breaks my heart! She loves playing outside and swimming, and going to the park, singing and dancing. She hates eating vegetables but loves candy. She is super smart-like genius smart! She wants to be a mommy when she grows up.

Leah Harper aka the poor girl has no nicknames yet!

Leah is almost 3 months old. She is definitely a mommy's girl and the ultimate diva! She is happy until you put her down, and then she throws her fits! She has just started to smile and coo, and it is about the cutest thing you'll ever see. She loves listening to her daddy laugh and she loves our nightly Logan household dance parties. She doesn't want to miss out on anything, which means when I need her to nap she doesn't-but she sleeps great at night. She is a very spoiled little girl already!

So that is my wonderful family. I can not believe how lucky I am-I have the best life!

Okay, off to the pool!

Life is Good

Right now I am sitting on my comfy chair in my family room. The room is a mess, I have folded laundry by me that needs to be put away, Ryan is watching some stupid movie, and Kendall is standing on the coffee table, singing at the top of her lungs. As I look at her I realize that I have the best life ever.

Random...

Things that are on my mind at 8:37 on a Thursday...
1. My new year's resolution is to become a scarf girl. I am going to wear scarves out and be hip. I currently own four scarves. I have only worn one, but I am planning on going all out and wearing one to my work meeting tomorrow-I am so freaking hip.

2. I have 9 weeks before my baby girl comes and I am so not prepared. No nursery, no new clothes, nothing. Not even a middle name-poor girl. But I am so over the moon for her already! I can't wait to meet her.

3. I have caramel cheesecake in the fridge-now I am going to rush through this blog so I can eat an extremely large piece.

4. I wish I was a really really good singer. I wish I was on American Idol.

5. I am quite certain that I have the smartest two year in the world. I should probably start saving money for Harvard.

6. I have so many other random thoughts, but I can't stop thinking about that cheesecake!

G'night!

BJ's, The Police, and a Boycott

So Friday night I get to go on a girls night. I hadn't been on a girls night in forever, so I was pretty excited. I met my new friends from work up at the Billy Frog's in La Vista. We ordered dinner and were having a blast. Things got crazy when they ordered some blow job shots and we had to see who could do them the official blow job shot way (hands behind your back, mouths only.) Jen and Danielle took em down like champs-I couldn't (btw, my shots were soda-I do have some morals!)

So a few more friends join us and we are still having a great time. Then some guy comes over and asks if we want to buy a wristband and get "$1 you call its" We say no thanks, we will pay full price and he goes "Well, you have to buy the wristband or you have to leave." Seriously? We start to get upset, and decide we will finish our drinks and leave. We are in La Vista people, not downtown Vegas!! $5 cover after we have been there since 6...I think not.

So the guy goes to tell on us, and the manager comes over. My friend Jen, who I think is the coolest, starts to argue with him and tells him "With a policy like that you are going to go out of business" Wrong thing to say, cause he asks us to leave...we say no, we are going to finish our drinks-at which point he send the POLICE officer over to escort us out. For reals!

So I am officially starting a boycott of the Billy Frog's in La Vista. Please spread the word to all of your friends and family. I am determined to take this place DOWN!

But, I'm actually pretty proud of myself. I have never been kicked out of a bar, and to do so at 7 months pregnant-that is classy people!!

Love,

This is the best ever!

Kendall and I had a girls night tonight, and headed to Sesame Street Live. Ryan and I had talked about taking her, but with our Christmas spending, I thought it was out of the question. Then, yesterday, we were driving home from dinner and Kendall was singing along to her Elmo cd at the top of her lungs. Ryan suggested that the two of us ladies go to the show (turns out he just wanted some time to watch football in peace and quiet.)

So I purchased tickets this morning and got Kendall all revved up about going to the Elmo show. I even used it as a bribe the night before (No more crying and we can go see Elmo. I should write a parenting book I know!)

So on our way home from lunch today, it is like an ice rink on the roads. I am freaking out because there is no way a pregnant lady should be driving her 2 year old all the way downtown to watch a sesame street show. I am upset that I will be out $50... and I'm not sure how I will break this news to Kendall...

Well, my sweet pigtailed little girl wakes up from her nap, jumps up, looks at me and says "I'm ready!" So we go (The roads were totally fine, not bad at all)

We get into the Qwest Center and she looks at me and says "Mom, this is the best ever." And it was. The show was a little long for me, but Kendall was in heaven with her cotton candy and the fact that Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Big Bird were all on stage singing to her.

And the fact that she peed her pants while sitting on my leg...well even that didn't ruin one of my best nights ever!

Kendall and Elmo

Eating cotton candy (notice how big the bag is...the girl took the whole thing down-well, okay she had a little help from mom and baby sister...)

New Years Resolution

So, my new years resolution is to actually write this blog. I hope to update it a few times a week. Who wants to bet that this lasts until the end of January...
I guess the reason I quit writing was because I never thought that anything that happened in my life was worth blogging. But I have decided that I have a fabulous life and I'm sure that everyone wants to read about it.

For example, my daughter is fabulously funny, and cute, and smart. But most importantly, the girl is funny. Today I handed her a dollar bill so she could buy "lunch" and she immediately told me it was her map. She consulted this "map" all day. It was helping her find pirates, because this week she is obsessed with pirates. She even showed me the pirate on the map (George Washington). When I explained that actually he wasn't a pirate, he was the first president she said "Umm no mom, he's a pirate!" Whatev.... She even had to sleep with her map, and she just told me that she is going to follow the map and climb the mountain...oh, and she wants me to tell you that she loves her map and it was the best thing she got for Christmas...good thing I spent a few hundred dollars on toys...

As far as baby Logan goes, she appears to be doing well. Just in the past few days she has started learning karate!!! She likes to kick me while I'm eating, which is not the most comfortable thing in the world. I am just beginning to feel uncomfortable, not good since I still have 3 whole months to go. I think we have a name picked out, just working on the middle name...it is a secret so don't even ask!!
